Brownstown Master Plan
In July 2023, the Brownstown Board of Trustees approved Community Image Builders (CIB) to commence the update of Brownstown's Master Plan. The existing master plan was last revised in 2008.
The update is expected to take 12 – 18 months and will include a robust public engagement strategy to gather feedback from Brownstown residents, business owners, property owners, and other community stakeholders.
All updates and information will be posted here. You may also email questions and comments to supervisor@brownstown-mi.org
What is a Master Plan?Master Plan is a long-range guiding policy document focusing on land use and plans for future development in a community. The Master Plan also outlines the community's goals and objectives and specific guidelines related to transportation, utilities, recreation, public services, and more. The Zoning Ordinance, which regulates land development, is guided by the Master Plan and is a tool to implement the plan. A key element of the Master Plan is the Future Land Use, which designates the location and intensity of future development.
