Curbside Recycling Overview
To view your recycling collection day, visit our map of the recycling schedule.
Brownstown’s curbside recycling program runs every-other-week. (Nov 2021-2026 Recycling Schedule). Place the cart at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on your collection day or no earlier than 4:00 p.m. the night before your collection day. Follow cart placement instructions on lid. Face lid opening towards the street. Place recycling at least 3 feet from your rubbish or other containers. Questions, please call Waste Management at (866) 797-9018.

SPECIAL COLLECTION EVENTS
Annual Spring Cleanup Weeks - Residential only.
The township provides annual Spring Cleanup (usually May). During the Spring Cleanup weeks, a limited tire dropoff (Car tires/no rims only) is provided at the Township Hall for Township residents. At no charge, one appliance with Freon may be collected. Not accepted: Roofing shingles, electronics, auto parts, hazardous materials, batteries, and yard waste.

Shred Day
The Township also provides an annual document shredding day each fall for Township residents.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE & E-CYCLING SCHEDULE
Wayne County’s Department of Environment is hosts four Household Hazardous Waste Collections each year for County residents. The collections are designed to accept unwanted household chemicals for proper disposal and electronics for recycling from residents.
