Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) functions as a quasi-judicial panel comprising five core members. It convenes to review applications for variances from the Zoning Ordinance, offering a platform for individuals seeking exceptions. Moreover, the ZBA plays a role in clarifying the Zoning Ordinance through its interpretations and addresses appeals relating to administrative zoning determinations.
Meetings
The ZBA meets on the third Thursday of the month, at 6:00 p.m., in the Brownstown Township Hall, 21313 Telegraph Road (unless otherwise noted).

Membership Information
- Consists of 5 members (and 2 alternates) who are appointed by the Board of Trustees. The Planning Commission and the Township Board each have a representative that serves as a liaison to the ZBA.
- Term: 3 years, ends May 31
- Annual Stipend: Members $20 per meeting; Chairperson $25 per meeting
